We are so glad that you have stopped by to cruise our website. So, Welcome to Ballinger Fire Department, it was established in April of 1905. We have dedicated well over a century of service to our community and surrounding neighbors. We have one paid firefighter and 25 volunteer firefighters on our roster. We serve the City of Ballinger (pop. 3700) and the Southeastern area of Runnels County. Our coverage area is approximately 450 Square miles. The community profile is Rural (Farming & Ranching) / Light Industrial.
We are located 36 miles east of San Angelo, Texas and 54 miles south of Abilene, Texas. U.S. Highway 83 and U.S. Highway 67 intersect through our city. We average about 110 calls a year.  We handle fire suppression, rescue incidents and fire prevention. The department operates 2-Engines, 1-Ladder Truck, 1-Booster Truck,  3-Brush Rigs, 1-6000 gallon Water Tender, 1-Rehab Unit and 1-Command / Support Unit.
